If you live with or are owned by one of the following breeds and are interested in giving them a job and yourself a hobby, you might consider Lure Coursing.
The AKC recognized breeds are: Afghan Hound, Basenji, Borzoi, Greyhound, Ibizan Hound, Irish Wolfhound, Italian Greyhound, Pharaoh Hound, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Saluki, Scottish
Deerhound and Whippet.
There are also AKC Foundation Stock Service Breeds that are allowed to compete, but may compete for suffix titles only. They are: the Azawakh, Cirneco Dell'Etna, Sloughi and the Thai
Ridgeback. For more information see the AKC's website.
For more information on Lure Coursing tune in to Wendy's Animal Talk on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Wendy's guest will be Cori Solomon, a woman of multiple talents who wears many hats.
Besides her art, real estate and writing careers, Cori is owned by and shows championship Salukis; both in confirmation and lure coursing.
You can listen live to Wendy's Animal Talk at 1:00 PM Pacific on HealthyLife.net for more information on Lure Coursing with your favorite four-legged canine.
Until next time.
Bless you and yours, be they two or four-legged;
Ruthie
